Practical "folding" saw with teeth arranged in two complementary reverse rows. Excellent for fast and precise cutting, blade length 18 cm. The blade can be easily replaced using a clamping mechanism.
The handle is made from French beech, grown in sustainably managed forests. It is heavily lacquered and therefore highly resistant to soiling and moisture. The hand-sharpened carbon steel blade is treated with a special anti-corrosion coating, with excellent cutting properties and lasting sharpness thanks to added carbon.
The saw, like Opinel knives, features a patented ViroBlock safety lock - not only against blade closure, but also against accidental opening.

95% of the wood used to make handles comes from sustainably managed French forests. This prevents excessive felling and air pollution from long-distance transport, and nature is therefore placed under less strain. The main wood supplier manages forests in the French Jura region and is, of course, a holder of PEFC certification.
The choice of steel determines blade longevity and quality, which is why it receives proper attention, as it ultimately influences the main functional properties of the entire product. For Opinel knives, very high-quality Swedish steel 12C27 (Sandvik) was selected. This steel is highly resistant to corrosion and easy to maintain thanks to chromium content. The carbon content in the steel (0.40%) ensures an excellent edge that holds its shape even when in contact with harder material without the need for sharpening.
