The CB 18 is a modern multistandard transceiver capable of operating in both AM and FM modes, with 4 W output, covering a frequency range from 26.565 to 27.99125 MHz. This means it can operate in all approved European frequency bands and also has direct access to channels 9 and 19 for emergency use. The CB 18 microphone was designed with a new capsule that offers fuller voice modulation. In addition, it is equipped with three buttons (UP, DOWN and LOCK) that allow quick and easy channel changes. Dual squelch mode (manual and DS) with five adjustable levels helps reduce ambient noise, ensuring clearer reception. The receive attenuator (RF gain), adjustable in seven levels, allows for clean reception and avoids possible distortion caused by transmission on adjacent channels. The VOX function, which activates upon voice detection, enables hands-free communication and is adjustable in five levels. The multicoloured LCD display (7 colours) with S-meter makes the CB 18 aesthetically pleasing and provides clear and easy-to-read information. An external speaker socket is also available, which can be used for further sound amplification. As for power supply, the device comes with a cable equipped with a cigarette lighter socket, which allows simple connection without the need for direct connection to the vehicle battery. Thanks to its compact dimensions (114 × 43 × 180 mm) and low weight (499 g), the CB 18 is easy to install.
