Rip-Stop poncho from manufacturer MFH in universal size 223cm x 144cm with surface treatment of 100% Polyamide + Rip-Stop finish. The poncho features a hood with a drawcord for fastening around the neck. Seams are sewn and taped, which prevents water from passing through the seams entirely. The poncho serves not only as protection from rain, but also against mechanical impacts such as scratches from branches or as protection against soiling.
What is Rip-Stop?
Ripstop is a fabric with high strength, manufactured using a special technique. Thicker threads are woven into thin textile at intervals of 5–8mm. The advantages of ripstop fabrics lie in their excellent weight-to-strength ratio and high tear strength.
Ripstop is used for hot air balloons, parachutes, boat sails, tents, rucksacks and sports clothing.
All camouflage uniforms of the American Army are currently made from so-called ripstop poplin (50% polyamide and 50% cotton).
Ripstop was developed in the USA during the Second World War.
