This material is known for its high strength, low moisture absorption and excellent durability. G10 material is very popular in weapon handle manufacture thanks to its grip and slip resistance. It is considered the strongest glass fibre laminate in the world. Well Designed – The blade lock mechanism is resistant to contamination and prevents accidental closure of the knife. The knife closes extremely smoothly, which is due to the use of a ceramic ball bearing. German D2 steel is one of the most popular tool steels with high carbon and chromium content. Relatively high wear resistance combined with good hardness and toughness led to its widespread use in knife manufacture. D2 steel is much harder (HRC 57-61) than other steels in this category, and therefore holds an edge better. Higher hardness is, however, also associated with greater difficulty when sharpening the blade. The steel is often referred to as "semi" stainless, because it does not reach the required chromium content to be considered stainless steel. Nevertheless, it provides good corrosion resistance.
