Climashield® Apex™ insulation warms even when wet
Unlike down, insulation made of synthetic fibres warms even when wet and does not clump. You can wash the poncho in a washing machine. The insulation is light, efficient, gives breathability and also has good compression properties.
In the Swagman Roll poncho Helikon-Tex used Climashield® Apex™ insulation with a weight of 67 g/m², the same as in the winter Wolfhound jacket. Paired with the classic U.S. Model poncho it forms an effective set for rain and cold.
A DWR finish protects the outer layer
Durable Water Repellency increases resistance to soiling, limits the absorption of the material and slows the ingress of moisture. Thanks to this the product is simpler to care for and keeps its properties longer.

The Swagman Roll is a tribute to travellers
In the past trappers, soldiers and the so-called swagmen, that is itinerant workers in Australia, did not carry sleeping bags and warmed themselves with rolled woollen blankets. In time synthetic liners replaced them, which together with a poncho formed rainproof insulation. Today the Helikon-Tex ponchos refer to that tradition in the form of a modern, multi-purpose product.
