A multifunctional poncho, like a multitool, designed for use in the field.
Climashield® Apex™ insulation keeps you warm even when wet
Unlike down, synthetic fiber insulation keeps you warm even when wet and does not clump. The poncho can be machine-washed. The insulation is lightweight, efficient, breathable, and compressible.
In the Swagman Roll, Helikon-Tex uses Climashield® Apex™ insulation with a weight of 67 g/m², just like in the winter Wolfhound jacket. Combined with the classic U.S. Model Poncho, it creates an effective set for rain and cold.
Outer layer protected with DWR coating
Durable Water Repellency increases resistance to dirt, limits fabric absorption, and slows moisture penetration. As a result, the product is easier to maintain and retains its properties for longer.
You can easily adjust the poncho to your body.
Waist straps and buckle closure
You can easily adjust the Swagman to your body shape.
Spacious hood with drawcord
Protects against both low temperatures and wind.
Large front pocket
Holds items you need to keep close at hand. Additionally, it functions as a self-pack.
Compact, includes a carry bag
Once packed into the included sack, the poncho easily fits into your backpack.
One poncho, many possibilities! Swagman Roll combines the features of several products
You can take the poncho with you on any trip. This helps reduce the amount of gear you carry and saves space in your backpack – without compromising comfort.
As an outer layer
Resembles an improvised anorak jacket.
As a sleeping bag or sleeping bag liner
Ultra-fast conversion by closing the zipper sewn along three edges.
As a hammock underquilt
Elastic cords on the sides let you easily attach the poncho to a hammock. They create an insulating layer that wraps securely around the bottom and sides.
As a travel blanket
Fully unzipped and spread out on the ground.
Swagman Roll as a tribute to travelers
In the past, trappers, soldiers, and so-called swagmen (in Australia, itinerant workers) did not carry sleeping bags – they kept warm with rolled wool blankets. Over time, these were replaced with synthetic liners, which, combined with a poncho, created insulated rain protection. Today, Helikon-Tex ponchos reference that tradition as a modern, multifunctional product recommended by the NTOA (National Tactical Officers Association).
