A versatile one-day tactical shoulder bag. Its shape refers to the bag used in the U.S. Army since the 1960s for carrying the M18A1 anti-personnel mine called the Claymore. It extends the Helikon-Tex bag range towards wider use, not only for bushcraft and hiking, but also for other outdoor or urban activities. The solutions used in the Claymore bag will also be appreciated by firearm users, because AR/AK magazines fit the versatile flat pockets perfectly.

Thanks to the use of Cordura 500D, far more durable than traditional nylon and polyester, the Claymore bag is much more resistant to abrasion. You can calmly take it into the city and use it every day, for instance commuting to work or to school. The Claymore also proves itself as a tactical bag in which gear stays safe even when passing through dense forest or between rocks. The hook-and-loop and snap closure protects small items from falling out.

To increase the potential of the Claymore bag, Helikon-Tex equipped it with fourteen pockets. Thanks to this you can use it as a go bag – it holds spare ammunition, a canteen and a light jacket (for example the Windrunner or the Tramontane). For users who want to be ready at all times, it can serve as a larger EDC organizer. Into the Claymore bag you can put, for instance, a one-litre bottle, a folding saw or a small axe. It completes the range, filling the gap between the eight-litre Haversack bag and the less capacious, two-and-a-half-litre Essential Kit Bag.

In an emergency there may be no time to search through your luggage. That is why Helikon-Tex arranged the external pockets so that access to them is as quick as possible. At the front the Claymore bag has two large sewn-on pockets closed with hook-and-loop and, if needed, with snaps. Each of them holds two flat pockets, cut exactly to fit AR/AK magazines. Helikon-Tex made use of the back of the bag as well and placed three small pockets there. Together this gives as many as nine pockets, seven of them flat and two sewn on.

The rectangular compartment of the bag, secured with a zipper, is divided into four flat pockets and free space that fits, for example, a notebook or a tablet. Besides that, the rear wall holds one more zipped pocket for valuables, such as secured documents or money. Five pockets in total and free space between them. You can hang keys and other small items on the loops so that they are immediately at hand.

One of the most characteristic pieces of a U.S. Army soldier's gear during the Vietnam War was the M7 Bandolier. It is a military bag with two pockets, closed with snaps. One of them carried the M18A1 anti-personnel mine called the Claymore (like the large Scottish sword). The other held the M57 firing device and a circuit tester. After each mine was detonated, the soldier was left with one such bag, which in time came to be called simply a claymore bag and used for carrying gear. It was modified and used after service as well. The military shoulder bag became so popular that civilian equivalents began to be produced.
