Ultra-powerful rechargeable torch Fenix LR50R delivers extreme light output of up to 12,000 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 950 metres. It achieves this performance through four powerful Luminus SST-70 LEDs with a lifespan of 50,000 hours of operation, powered by an internal high-current Li-ion rechargeable battery with a capacity of 57.6 Wh. The battery charges directly in the torch via a modern USB-C connector. The torch offers control via two buttons, which separately control constant light modes and strobe modes. The torch is equipped with indicator LEDs that show the battery charge status. Additionally, the torch can be used as an emergency power bank to charge other USB devices. The torch body is also fitted with a tripod thread, so it can be mounted on a tripod and used as stationary lighting. Despite its enormous power, the torch maintains surprisingly compact dimensions, with a length of just 16.3 centimetres and a weight of 980 grammes including the battery. This search torch is suitable primarily for rescue and reconnaissance operations. However, it is also excellent for guarding large objects or for all torch enthusiasts.
All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
Fenix LR50R torch specifications:
- The light source consists of four top-tier Luminus SST-70 LEDs with a lifespan of 50,000 hours of operation.
- A total of 9 light modes: Constant modes: 12,000 lumens (1.80 hours) → 6,000 lumens (2.30 hours) → 3,000 lumens (2.60 hours) → 1,000 lumens (7.60 hours) → 350 lumens (24 hours) → 50 lumens (58 hours).
- Strobe modes: Strobe (6,000 lumens) → SOS (350 lumens).
- It uses a high-current Li-ion rechargeable battery ARB-L52-16000 with a capacity of 16,000 mAh / 3.6 V (57.6 Wh). In an emergency, it can be replaced with 1–4 individual 21700 Li-ion batteries, but the highest modes will not be available with them.
- Charging via USB-C with support for fast-charging protocols PD3.0 / PD2.0, QC3.0 / QC2.0.
- Charging time 4.5–16 hours depending on the power of the source used.
- Digitally regulated for constant brightness and with overheat protection.
- A proximity sensor in the reflector automatically reduces power to 50 lumens when the torch approaches an object to less than approximately 6–8 centimetres (prevents damage to the object from intense light and glare from reflected light).
- An aluminium reflector provides a beam distance of up to 950 metres (225,750 cd).
- The electronics are equipped with a protection function against excessive battery discharge; when the voltage drops below a certain threshold, it automatically switches to a lower power mode.
- The torch has memory and can be switched on in the last set mode (does not apply to strobe modes). Battery charge status indication (functional only when using the original Fenix ARB-L52-16000 battery).
- Dimensions 16.3 cm (length) × 6 cm (body diameter) × 8.8 cm (reflector diameter).
- Weight 980 grammes (including battery).
- Made from aircraft-grade hardened aluminium, the reflector is fitted with an impact rim. Durable hard-to-scratch surface – Type III hard anodised.
- Impact-resistant to drops from a height of 1 metre.
- Waterproof and dustproof to the IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes).
- Hardened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating.
- Trapezoidal threads with increased wear resistance.
- Capable of standing independently on a flat surface and serving as a candle.
- The body is fitted with a thread for mounting on a tripod.
- Pronounced knurling across the entire surface of the torch for better grip.
- The package includes the ARB-L52-16000 battery, USB-C charging cable, belt pouch, attachment loop and spare O-rings.
- A QC3.0 USB mains adapter, USB car adapter and coloured USB-C cable can be purchased separately for the torch.
Use
- The battery may have an insulating cover from the factory. Remove it before first use.
- Pressing the right button for 0.5 seconds switches the torch on to the last set constant light mode.
- Further presses switch between power modes; holding the button switches the torch off again.
- Holding the left button switches the torch on to the highest 12,000 lumens mode; further presses of the left button activate strobe and then SOS. You can return to the last constant light mode by pressing the right button.
- The control buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation, for example when carrying in luggage – with the torch off, press both buttons and hold them for at least 3 seconds, then the torch will flash to indicate it is locked. To unlock, hold both buttons again for three seconds.
- Accidental activation can also be prevented by loosening the torch body.

Charging
- flip off the rubber cover of the charging connector and plug the cable into the USB-C connector on the torch.
- The indicator LEDs will flash from left to right and show the charging status.
- During charging, only the 50 lumens mode can be activated.
- After charging is complete, seal the connector securely with the rubber cover.
- You can use not only standard USB adapters and power banks for charging, but also fast-charging adapters with PD3.0 / PD2.0, QC3.0 / QC2.0 protocols, which will be automatically detected.
- Charging external USB devices (power bank function) – flip off the rubber cover of the USB connector and connect the device you want to charge with a suitable USB cable. To activate the power bank function, briefly press one of the control buttons. After charging begins, the indicator LEDs will flash from right to left and show the battery status. The maximum discharge current is 2A. After charging is complete, remember to properly seal the USB connector with the rubber cover.
- Battery charge status indication – after briefly pressing either button, the indicator LEDs will light up for 8 seconds and show the battery charge status (the torch must be off). Four lit LEDs mean the battery is charged to 80–100%, three lit 60–80%, two 40–60%, one 20–40% and one flashing indicates the battery is charged to less than 20%. Indication is functional only with the original battery. Intelligent overheat protection – when the temperature exceeds 60°C, the torch automatically gradually reduces power in small steps down to 3,000 lumens; after cooling, the power automatically increases again.
- Operation in the highest Turbo mode (12,000 lumens) is time-limited to 20 seconds, after which the torch reduces power to 8,000 lumens for 60 seconds. If the second-highest level (6,000 lumens) is selected for longer than 60 seconds, the power is then reduced to 4,000 lumens over the following 60 seconds. A proximity sensor in the reflector automatically reduces power to 50 lumens when the torch approaches an object to less than approximately 6–8 centimetres (prevents damage to the object from intense light and glare from reflected light).
Warning
Do not disassemble sealed parts of the torch yourself, as this will void the warranty. If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water. If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is discharged; charge it.
- The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
- The body is loose; tighten it.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the torch, two-year warranty on the battery.
