Zoom rechargeable torch Fenix LD45R delivers a light output of up to 2800 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 480 metres. To disperse the light beam, it uses digital focusing technology, which does not use any moving parts but is essentially a built-in LCD that electronically changes from clear to diffuse in fine steps. Zoom is controlled simply with one hand via a rotary control around the main switch. The use of digital focusing technology allows for the preservation of the highest degree of mechanical durability, and the torch is thus dustproof and waterproof to the IP68 standard to a depth of two metres underwater. The light source is the premium LED Luminus SFT70 with a lifespan of 50,000 hours, and power is supplied by a 21700 type rechargeable battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. Information about the selected mode, battery status and current power output is clearly displayed on the status OLED display. Robust and water-resistant design makes this torch suitable for universal work, home and outdoor use.
All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
Specifications of the Fenix LD45R zoom rechargeable torch
- Uses the premium high-performance LED Luminus SFT70 with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.
- Seven lighting modes: 2800 lumens (2.6 hours) → 1000 (2.8 hours) → 350 lumens (6.6 hours) → 150 lumens (16.6 hours) → 20 lumens (65 hours) → strobe 2800 lumens → SOS 150 lumens.
- The stated power specifications are measured with the torch set to the most focused beam.
- Powered by one rechargeable high-capacity Li-ion rechargeable battery Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0, which is included in the package. Other recommended batteries are Fenix ARB-L21-4000P and Fenix ARB-L21-6000. When using other batteries, high power modes may not be available.
- Charging via a waterproof USB-C connector.
- OLED status display, which shows the selected power mode, battery charge level and charging progress.
- Electronic switch for selecting lighting modes.
- Ability to smoothly adjust the shape of the light beam from spot to flood light using a rotary control, with a beam distance of 480–159 metres (57,770 – 6,300 cd).
- The torch has memory and will always turn on to the last selected mode except for the two highest modes and strobe or SOS.
- Intelligent overheat protection.

Using the Fenix LD45R zoom torch
Turning on/off and switching power modes - To turn the light on or off, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. You can switch power modes at any time during operation by pressing the side button. Strobe modes can be activated by holding the button for 1.2 seconds.
OLED display power-saving mode - After the light is turned on, the OLED display will automatically switch to power-saving mode after 10 seconds of inactivity and its brightness will be reduced by 50%. The display brightness will automatically restore when the button is pressed again.
Smooth adjustment of spot and flood light - The rotary switch allows smooth adjustment between spot and flood light. The rotary switch can be rotated through a range of 270 degrees.
Memory of the last selected mode - The torch will always turn on to the last selected mode except for the two highest modes and strobe or SOS.
Lock/unlock - To prevent accidental activation of the torch, for example in luggage, press the button twice quickly (the torch must be off); the torch will then flash twice in low mode and a locked padlock symbol will appear on the OLED display for 1 second. To unlock, press the button twice quickly again; an unlocked padlock symbol will appear on the OLED display for 1 second and the torch will turn on to the lowest mode. Accidental activation can also be prevented by loosening the torch tail cap.
Battery replacement - Unscrew the torch tail cap and insert the battery with the positive pole facing the head. Then fully tighten the torch tail cap again.
Charging - Flip open the dust cover and connect the USB-C charging cable to the torch charging port. After charging is complete, seal the dust cover again. The typical charging time for the included ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery is 3 hours with a 5 V/2.5 A USB power source. During charging, the torch can be used in the lowest mode. During charging, a charging icon and charge level indicator are displayed on the OLED display.
Note: A crossed-out battery symbol will appear on the OLED display if the rechargeable battery is inserted backwards or is not inserted at all.
Battery charge status indication - During torch operation, a four-segment charge indicator is displayed on the OLED display. When the torch is off, the indicator will be displayed for 3 seconds after a short button press. Four lit segments mean the battery is charged to 100-75%, three lit segments 75-50%, two 50-25%, one 25-10% and no segments 10-1%.
Intelligent overheat protection - When the torch is used for extended periods at high power modes, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the torch reaches a temperature of 60 °C or higher, it automatically reduces power by several lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the power gradually increases again.
Low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below 3.0 V, the torch automatically switches to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. After reaching the lowest power mode, the battery status icon will begin to flash on the OLED display. In this case, charge the torch as soon as possible or replace the battery with a charged one.
Warning
- Do not disassemble sealed parts in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Use only the high-current rechargeable Li-ion batteries of 21700 type listed above.
- If the protective rubber O-rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The O-rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
- If the torch does not switch to higher power modes, flashes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost discharged - charge it.
- The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
- The rear of the torch is loose – tighten it.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the torch, two-year warranty on the rechargeable battery.
