Zoom-capable rechargeable head torch Fenix HL40R delivers a light output of up to 600 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 147 metres. Power is provided by a built-in lithium-polymer rechargeable battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh, which charges via a micro-USB connector directly in the head torch. The light source is a modern Cree XP-L HI V2 LED, with its light directed by special TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics with the ability to adjust the width of the light cone (zoom function). A total of 7 power modes are available, including an SOS strobe mode for emergency situations. Despite the adjustable optics, the head torch maintains water-repellency according to the IP66 standard, so it will withstand heavy rain without any problems. The head torch strap is fitted with reflective elements, which ensure good all-round visibility when moving on the road. Thanks to its weight of just 130 grammes, the Fenix HL40R is excellent for hiking, search and rescue work, as a running head torch, camping, photography, a head torch for anglers and for other activities. All parameters of the head torch (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use

• Holding the right (main) button for 0.5 seconds will always turn the head torch on to the 70 lumens mode.
• Further presses of this button allow you to switch between 30 - 70 - 130 - 300 lumens modes at any time during operation.
• Burst mode (600 lumens) is activated by holding the right button for 1.2 seconds (even if the head torch is off).
• Pressing the right button again will return the head torch to the original mode.
• Holding the left (smaller) button for 0.5 seconds will always turn the head torch on to the 4 lumens mode (suitable for example for reading).
• Further presses of this button allow you to switch between 4 lumens and SOS modes. The width of the cone is adjusted by rotating the ring around the optics.
• Rotating clockwise narrows the cone, rotating anticlockwise widens it.
• Battery charge status indication - after a short press of the left button (the head torch must be off), the LED battery charge status indicator on the top of the head torch is activated.
• Four lit LEDs mean the battery is charged to more than 80%, three lit means 60-80%, two means 40-60%, one means 20-40% and one flashing indicates the battery is charged to less than 20%.
• Overheat protection - operation in Burst mode is limited to 1 minute at a time, after which the head torch will return to the previous lighting mode.
• The control buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation, for example when transporting in a rucksack - hold both buttons pressed for 3 seconds. The head torch will then flash.
• To unlock, hold both buttons again for 3 seconds.

Charging

• Flip open the rubber cover of the micro USB connector on the back of the head torch and use the supplied USB cable to connect the head torch to a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter.
• Alternatively, you can use any mobile phone charger with a micro USB connector for charging.
• During charging, the four indicator diodes on the top gradually light up, and after full charging all light continuously.
• Charging time for a completely discharged battery is approximately 4 hours.
• The battery used does not suffer from memory effect, so the head torch can be recharged at any time.
• Seal the USB connector cover securely after each charge.
• During charging, the head torch can be turned on, but only in the 4 lumens mode.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• If the head torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons: The battery is almost discharged – charge it.
