Esbit solid fuel tablets are a useful aid for cooking, heating food and drinks in the outdoors, and also for starting a fire or igniting charcoal in a barbecue. Solid fuel is a practical source of fire that takes up minimal storage space. The active ingredient in this type of fuel is hexamethylenetetramine, a heterocyclic compound of formaldehyde and ammonia. Smoke from solid fuel tablets is not visible. The fuel is not explosive and leaves no ash after burning. The tablets are packed in a waterproof container.
