CAMP Safety DRUID is a lightweight and compact abseil brake with automatic locking for work at height and rescue services. The brake is designed for static ropes with diameter 9.9 - 11 mm. A high level of safety is ensured by the "anti-panic" function, which automatically locks the brake in the event of excessive pressure on the trigger lever, thereby immediately stopping lowering or abseiling. The body and lever are made from solid forged aluminium alloy. Moving parts are made from precisely cast stainless steel. The arrangement of the internal cam mechanism is patented and offers very fine rope control together with smooth slip in the event of a fall catch, which protects the rope and extends its lifespan. Rope feeding during belay on ascent is facilitated by a protrusion for the right index finger, which is located on the moving part of the cam near the belay eye. Simply open the cam with your index finger and quickly feed a longer length of rope. In the event of an accidental fall into the cam, the belayer has no chance of holding the cam open with one finger; the cam closes immediately after the rope is pulled and prevents rope slip. The steel eye serves to attach the abseil brake to a fixed point and thus prevents it from falling to the ground.
