A durable and easy-to-handle tool, the Black Diamond Viper Ice Tool is designed for year-round winter climbing objectives and delivers versatile performance for ice climbers and alpinists. The Viper's hydroformed shaft passes through the handle for maximum rigidity and responsive feel, and our natural adze is included to boost durability in complex mountain terrain. The adjustable FlickLock® head serves as a secondary grip position for ice climbing and climbing wall use and slides easily up the shaft for self-arrest on low-angle snow slopes. The modular head allows simple adze replacement and hammer-to-ice-axe conversion.
