Thanks to a combination of technical precision in ice tool design with classic alpine ice climbing functionality, the Black Diamond Venom ice axe is the right tool for technical ski mountaineering ascents, classic glacier routes and moderately difficult snow climbs with short crampons. The Venom ice axe head is made from stainless steel and features a fully replaceable construction that is compatible with any Black Diamond ice axe. An integrated handle and asymmetrical angled shaft provide security and easy manipulation when swinging as an ice tool, and the sliding FlickLock head offers an adjustable second grip for self-arrest on steep snow.
